Motivational speaker, rapper C.J. Beatty to bring
the “Good Day Get Down” to the community Wake-Up Walk & 5K

Winston-Salem, NC (August 22, 2017) – Family Services is pleased to announce that C.J. Beatty will perform his new single, “Have a Good Day,” at the Wake-Up Walk & 5K, which takes place Saturday morning, August 26, from 8 to 11 a.m., at Bailey Park.

The event is open to the public. Online registration runs through Friday, August 25, and day-of registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Bailey Park.

Beatty, former professional baseball player turned motivational life coach, said he wanted to help Family Services raise community awareness and support for children and families who are trying to overcome the challenges and pressures of living in poverty.

Beatty is no stranger to Winston-Salem. The hometown athlete honed his baseball prowess at local Parkland and Glenn High Schools and went on to set records at North Carolina A&T before earning a 26th-round draft pick by the St. Louis Cardinals. After Beatty was released from St. Louis in 2011, he continued playing in international major leagues and now provides coaching and scouting support.

Beyond baseball, Beatty is a popular motivational speaker and life coach for children, youth, and athletes of every age. He has delivered messages on leadership, anti-bullying, goal setting, teamwork, and on creating a life of faith to numerous audiences, including the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System, Wake Forest University Baseball team, University of Virginia Football, and others across the U.S.

He has also turned his messages, “Motivational Nuggets,” into successful singles and videos that are gaining traction on YouTube.

His new video, “Have a Good Day,” features scenes and recognizable people from Winston-Salem. In the song, Beatty introduces the “Good Day Get Down,” dance steps that simply make people feel happy.

Beatty will teach the “Good Day Get Down” at the Family Services’ event.
